Niche Academy tutorials are available as a pullout on the right side of a number of library website pages, including the e-books & Streaming page.( https://www.indypl.org/books-movies-music/download-stream). The first tutorial is a brief one-minute overview produced by Axis 360 and added in August 2019 in preparation for the official launch of Axis 360 on the Public Library side.. The Axis 360 Niche Tutorial also contains lessons broken down by operating systems (Android, Apple iOS, Kindle Fire). Those are being used, not just the intro. The second tutorial was added at the end of April 2020 and was prepared by an Activity Guide from the Learning Curve. It is nine minutes long and a thorough guide to finding and using IndyPL’s Axis 360 sites.
Finding Axis 360
Students have access to tens of thousands of ebooks and eaudiobooks through Axis 360. The majority of schools in Marion County will login to Axis 360 via one of three IndyPL URLS.
Combined kids and teens: http://indypl.axis360.baker-taylor.com/
Librarians prefer the last site because it shows everything. Schools may prefer one of the other two sites because they don’t show everything.
82 schools have their own URLs to login to Axis 360 Community Share
Logging in to Axis 360
Schools that participate in Axis 360 Community Share have a school URL and either upload their students’ library card numbers, another common ID if library card numbers are not available, or they use Clever for authentication.
